Growing Talent with Apprenticeships

Employers who run apprenticeship programmes talk about the opportunity it provides to “grow their own talent”. Unlike new employees who have studied the theory first and then learn how to apply it in the workplace, apprentices learn theory and application at the same time. Consequently, apprentices are able to develop a real understanding of the business they are working in, make improvements and add value more quickly.

National Apprenticeship Week 2019 will run from 4-8 March. The council is inviting businesses with experience of apprenticeship programmes to help deliver information sessions to Westminster employers, and encourage more to grow their own talent. You could take part by sharing your experience with other businesses at an event, providing a case study that we can promote on our website, or visiting a Westminster secondary school to talk about your offer. To get involved, please email businessunit@westminster.gov.uk to register your interest.
